Images are a crucial part of any social media campaign. Hereβs why.
Images increase engagement
Images attract more engagement as people are more likely to like, comment, and share your posts. Newer research shows that Facebook posts with images get 2.3 times more engagement than those without images.
People remember images
People are more likely to remember information paired with images. In general, people remember 80% of what they see, 2-% of what they read, and 10% of what they are. This means that your readers are 4 times more likely to remember your posts with images.
Below we take a look at what images works best on social media.
Branded images
Interesting to note, research shows that brand images get the most engagement when they show a person interacting with the product. These images convey how the product is used so consumers can imagine themselves interacting with the product. On the other hand, images without a person receive more comments as consumers then try to understand how the product works.
Stock photos
Some businesses refuse to use stock photos. Stock photos however do have their place and advantages. Stock images: are cheaper than hiring a professional photographer, are easier to get with some sites offering an enormous variety of photos for free, and they are of exceptional quality.
Personal photos
These are best for building trust with customers. This can range from photos of everyday life at home or at work, or a team working on a project. These types of images show the customer that there are real people behind the product or social media profile. And we already know that by connecting with your customers, it can lead to more sales.
Sharing personal photos, team photos, product/service photos with your social media marketer every now and again is an absolute must-do. Try not to rely only on stock photos. Bring in some personal/product/service/project photos into the mix and strengthen the customer connection with you and your business.
